Recorded at: Studio Delphine, Paris 12/84; Studio ICP, Brussels 11/84; Studio Panda, Buenos Aires 04/85 and Studio Ion, Buenos Aires 12/87. Tracks 10-13 recorded live at Moulin `a Danses, Lausanne, Switzerland, 04/11/89. Trancks 1, 6, 7 and 14 taken from the original soundtrack album 'Sur' (Milan Sur CD13978-2/C358), a film by Fernando E. Solanas.

During his career Piazzolla constantly experimented with new formations with varying results. The years in Italy, often represented on the albums you see in record shops in Europe, are far from the best.
Even if music critics rightly point to the three albums on American Clave as his best work (surely you've heard of Zero Hour), his most enjoyable work comes from his last years, and there has never been a better album of this material than this 1994 album on the British label Music Club. Despite being re-issued in the USA in 1996 under the title Songs From A Heavy Heart, this cd was deleted a long time ago but we've been busy buying up stocks from around the world and are pleased to offer it in our music club.
