MONKOMAROK is an innovative World-Jazz band, crossing traditional music, modern groove, jazz spirit, and feminine voice in French or arabic.
Brought through by the "oriental black magic" voice of Alima, Monkomarok reveals freshness and euphoric energy. Their songs express fascinating travel atmospheres.
- The band was created in Toulouse, in the south of France, in 1998.
- Their first official release, "Din Din Dan" (ENJA / Harmonia Mundi) (2000) , is an Aladdin's cave of travel atmospheres from Orient and Eastern Europe.

Очень похожий альбом: Rabih Abou-Khalil 2003 "Morton's Foot" (также издан на лейбле Enja).
Краткая характеристика: мелодичный и ритмичный (прекрасная ритм-секция) авангардный джаз с восточной нотой и элементами фанка + "правильный" и чувственный женский вокал на французском...
