This is the session that opened my eyes to the acoustic double bass and to Gary Peacock. I have returned to the recording many, many times and it has become a favorite of mine, across all genres and artists. I have always favored creative brilliance in performance and in improvisational genius, and this session delivers. The compositions are sharply conceived and alight with inspired, deeply engaged performances on the part of all the musicians involved. It is an example of a rare synergy between the musicians the result of which surely transcended all expectations. Gary Peacock was at his peak, as well. Well worthwhile.
