John Carter was a very good friend of mine. We peformed quite often in each other's ensembles, in a wide variety of settings from duos to The Large Ensemble (of which John was an original member). The music on these discs is part of a larger suite "One Moment Of Truth" which I dedicated to John's memory. I have included two pieces "In A Manner Of Speaking" (for Dave Holland) and "Tumulus Or Griffin" (for Grover Mooney), and even though these sections are dedicated to these musicians the music is still part of the larger suite. - Vinny Golia
