Любопытное обстоятельство в 1966 году положило начало сотрудничеству между главой MPS Хансом Георгом Бруннер-Швером и Джорджем Дюком. Бруннер-Швер находился в Сан-Франциско для записи квинтета Арта ван Дамма. Однажды вечером, закончив сессию записи, он и его команда зашли в клуб Jazz Workshop.
