Review:
The most important Italian lingerie brand – La Perla - is probably the most famous one at an international level too. This is not their first musical effort, they have produced during the years a few examples of sophisticated special marketing compilations in the past, but ‘Black Label’ is their first officially released CD project. The selection has been taken care of by DJ Danilo Venturi from Radio Montecarlo, one of the most successful and refined national radio stations in Italy.
Venturi, musician himself, has supplied some exclusive tunes (among which one featuring top Nu Jazz singer Isabelle Antena)
for this CD, to go with more famous material by artists like Tosca, Nouvelle Vague (remixed by Thievery Corporation), Monte
La Rue and Irma’s own Ohm Guru (with an unreleased track!) and Arcoiris. Overall the music style could be described as smooth and silky chilled lounge beats with a few dashes of middle-eastern influence.
