Get The Blessing (Получи благословение) - джаз-роковый английский квартет из столицы трип-хопа - Бристоля - со своим вторым студийным альбомом "Жуки в янтаре". И, поскольку столица есть столица, то благословение ребята получали ни у кого иного как у Эдриана Атли (Adrian Utley) из одного из "трёх китов" бристольского стиля Portishead (они давно сотрудничали с басистом группы Джимом Барром). И Эдриан, похоже, в этом деле смыслит. Ведь дебютник группы All is Yes был признан лучшим джазовым альбомом 2008 года по версии ВВС. В принципе, с тех пор методы коллектива особых изменений не претерпели. Это всё тот же пост-модерновый джаз-рок с элементами авангарда и психоделии. При этом ребята не чураются стилистических и инструментальных экспериментов: в музыке слышны отголоски прогрессива и пост-рока, а играют они кроме уже традиционных гитар, барабанов и сакса с трубой, ещё и на вибрафоне, флюгельгорне, баритон-гитаре, маракасах и др.; приглашённые местами помогают на скрипке и виолочели. Кстати, Атли в составе последних лабает здесь на гитарке, а бас-гитарист Джим Барр и барабанщик Клайв Димер составляют сессионную и концертную ритм-секцию Portishead. Все треки альбома инструментальные (бэки не в счёт), впрочем, версии "The Unnameable" и "Bugs in Amber" (переименванной в "Moot") были переделаны для живых выступлений с вокалом, после чего записаны на сессии BBC 6 Music Freakzone. Композиции изобретательно составлены из музыки самых разнообразных жанров. Так, слышны как балканские, так и фри-джазовые влияния. Говоря о названии пластинки, его можно перевести ещё и как рехнувшиеся, ненормальные в янтаре. И, надо сказать, парни действительно по-хорошему ненормальные. С изрядной долей интеллигентного и интеллектуального английского сумасшествия. Любителям экспериментального джаз-рока must have!
