Unbelievable. Purely Genius. These words are an understatement of the work Chick Corea has created with Time Warp. I have a hard time naming another album that so beautifully (and literally) tells a story like this one does. It is reminiscent in its musical story telling to The Mad Hatter, which I need not describe if you are looking at this already. The musicianship is of course top notch on this album, and being a drummer myself, I especially enjoy Gary Novak's absolutely commanding and tasteful playing. I would have to say that it is some of the best drumming on any album I've ever heard. Paired with Jon Patitucci, its enough to send any drummer/bassist into a dimension of pure ecstacy. As usual, Bob Berg (r.i.p) tears it up with the most gorgeous of saxophone work, and Chick Corea- well, I won't even waste my time because nothing I could write could ever do his playing justice.
