Besides being lauded by the masses, Sinatra got his fare share of kudos from the jazz fraternity, too. From those who worked directly with him on recording sessions to the many players who just admired his unique and powerful brand of phrasing, the top jazz players of the '50s and '60s had plenty of respect for the Chairman's lungs. This Blue Note homage provides a fine context for appreciation, with top-notch sides ranging from some early cool by Miles Davis ("It Never Entered My Mind") to modern takes from Joe Lovano ("Angel Eyes") and Jacky Terrasson ("I Love Paris"). And that's not to forget a mighty coterie of hard bop turns by Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins, Freddie Hubbard, Art Blakey, and others. A fitting tribute.
