The bass player Javier Malosetti is a brilliant musician of the new generation of jazzmen Argentinian.
He is the son of legendary guitarist jazz Malosetti Walter (1931-2013).
Drummer in its infancy, Javier decided to switch instruments and from 1986 became one of the most requested and most important of Argentina scene bears. In parallel he developed his skills on drums, guitar and singing. He was a regular member of the band of Luis Alberto Spinetta for 8 years. Among the featured artists of national and international music with which he worked are Rubén Rada , Dino Saluzzi , Lito Vitale , James Ross , Baby López Furst , Alex Acuña , Larry Coryell , Jim Hall and Herb Ellis , among others. He participated in many events of great importance both in the capital and in the inside and outside of Argentina. Musician and producer of all their albums and others, performed solo 11 albums, several of which have been awarded the prestigious Gardel Music Award.
In early 1993 he decided to record his first solo album called Javier Malosetti, which received rave reviews from the press. After several tours with different artists, in 2000 he received the prize Clarín "jazz revelation of the year".
In 2001 he was released his second album, Spaghetti boogie, recorded with a quintet formed by Guillermo Romero (keyboards), Ricardo Cavalli (on sax), Américo Bellotto (trumpet) and Fernando Martínez (on drums). In the same year he won another award Clarín "jazz artist of the year".
The following year he recorded Villa, this time with a quintet formed by Andrés Beeuwsaert (on electric piano and organ Américo Bellotto (trumpet), Gustavo House (on tenor and alto sax) and Pepi Taveira (on drums). On this album, Javier , showed her talent on guitar, drums and percussion, plus bass and vocals.
A year later (2003), plus keep playing with Luis Alberto Spinetta and publish their fourth album Malosetti I live (recorded with the same musicians from above) won the award "Best Jazz Album" by Villa and decided to form a trio with Andrew Beeuwsaert (keyboards) and Pepi Taveira (on drums).
In 2004 he decided to leave the band Spinetta and teaching to devote to your hard Onyx. For recording invited to play his father and guitarist of rock and blues Norberto Pappo Napolitano . The following year he won a Star Award Mar 2005 (for "musical work"), an Gardel to Music 2005 ("best jazz album" by Onyx) and a Konex Award 2005 ("diploma of merit").
In 2005 he met drummer Oscar Giunta and keyboardist with Hernán Jacinto decided to form a new trio , with whom he recorded his sixth album, Boy. During 2007 enters the studio with Rubén Rada to record Warsaw. Also in this year won the prize "best jazz album" for his album Child.
Two years later, in 2009 , decides to give a respite to the trio and form a new band with young musicians, which called Electrohope, and releases an album with the same name. In this new project involved Raffetta Nicholas (keyboards) Hernán Segret (on guitar, bass and vocals), and Tomi Sainz (on drums).
On television he directed the music program to dream, where paraded Argentines and most important foreign soloists and aired by the channel Telefe . At present leads "Tracker", the series of documentaries about the history of blues, jazz and soul music, delivered by the Meeting canal.
From 1987 to 2004 he taught private lessons of electric bass and since then in the field of teaching makes only sporadic clinics and seminars for bears amateurs and professionals around the country.
Since 2008 uses a (bass guitar) instrument made especially for him by the great luthier Mariano Maese, is a double mast M2: 5-string bass and electric guitar. In 2010 the American brand manufactures Schecter Bass model specially designed for him.
In the months of April to August 2011 costarred The Passenger, Argentina's version of musical Passing Strange , Stew & Heidi Rodewald, together with Diego Reinhold and directed by Florencia Peña , María Onetto and Ana Frenkel , said musical has as co-star, singing and playing seconded by the band led by Mariano Otero (plus would be his acting debut).
