In the first place, "Blauer Hirsch" (Blue Stag) is energy: The band of free power play with dense, rich sound. "Blauer Hirsch" is rock music too: rhythmically structured, with a driving beat, distorted guitar riffs. And: "Blauer Hirsch" is improvisation, a pack of hounds unleashed by four alert musicians. There is something elemental, animal like in this extremely physical music, something that tugs at one’s brains, bringing back a forgotten mythos, the knowledge of extraordinary sounds, of the speed in slowness, the breath of listening. "Brain Drain" goes beyond Blauer Hirsch’s first release "Cyber Punk" (FMP). This time, the blue stag has picked up the scent of perfect form and dramaturgy. The sound attack turns into melancholy, out of melancholy emerges a new path. The hunt is on.
