С 1988 года продолжает обучение в Нью-Йорке. Первый альбом “No Realistics” выпускает в 1991 году. С тех пор становится лауреатом многочисленных премий: Dutch Edison Award, Elly Ameling Prize of the City of Rotterdam, the Boy Edgar Award, Bird Award at the North Sea Jazz Festival, Gouden Notenkracker.
Постоянно экспериментирует. Играет как с собственными группами, так и в многочисленных проектах других музыкантов. Его интересы простираются от классики до электронной музыки. При игре использует различные электронные устройства и спецэффекты.
