(Einhorn-Enselmann) - 4:06  Об альбоме (сборнике)Harmonica player Mauricio Einhorn is a true legend, one of the most original musicians of his instrument and one of the most important composers of Brazilian popular music. For this his latest recording, seventeen of Brazil's best jazz musicians were gathered together to perform a programme of his lesser known compositions, resulting in a colourful mix of Bossa nova performances that are at once beguiling and indicative of the genre's very best. Mauricio Einhorn made his recording debut in 1949 with the harmonica group Brazilian Rascals and in the following six decades recorded and performed with just about everyone of importance on the Brazilian music scene, including Gilberto Gil, Sergio Mendes, Eumir Deodato, Joao Donato, Maria Bethania, and Hermeto Pascoal. A creative jazz improviser and composer, his compositions have been recorded by such notables as Cannonball Adderley, Herbie Mann, Paquito d'Rivera, Leny Andrade and Lito Nebbia.  Liner notesIn Jazz we all know the master of the Harmonica, Mr ("Baron") Toots Thielemans, but we also are lucky to have a Prince: Mauricio Einhorn. Yes, when you know Mauricio, he treats you like a Prince through his music, his compositions, improvisation, his feelings and most of all through his friendship. I am honoured to be one of his many friends and be able to bring you his music. Being one of the creators of the Samba Jazz movement in Brazil and the co-master of the harmonica in Jazz the great thing about Mauricio is of course his relentless talent. The mastering of both these makes Mauricio one of the most important musicians of our time. Mauricio started playing harmonica at the age of 5 and, as a teenager, he was attracted by Jazz. But very quickly in the fifties, being a Carioca, he was bound to participate to the Bossa Nova. Mauricio Einhorn, creative improviser on the jazz harmonica and composer of several classics of bossa nova, had his songs recorded by Tom Jobim, Cannonball Adderley, Herbie Mann, Claudio Roditi, Joao Donato, Paquito d'Rivera, Leny Andrade, and many others. Some of his hits are Different Beat (Batida Diferente, written with Durval Ferreira), Clouds (Nuvem), There We Are (Estamos Ai, written with Durval Ferreira/Regina Werneck), Tristeza de Nós Dois (written with Durval Ferreira/Bebeto), Alvorada, Joyce's Samba, and Sambop. In this album Travessuras, he has invited a crowd of the best musicians of Brazil. And as usual when Mauricio wants to make a recording, one with many new compositions, all the great musicians want to participate because they know the result is going to be beautiful and perhaps historical. Some of the master musicians in this recording are: César Camargo Mariano, legendary pianist, composer and arranger, Ricardo Leao and Alberto Chimelli (the long time partner of Mauricio) on piano, keyboards and arrangements, Ricardo Silveira one of the most important guitarist of the Sambabop mouvement, Idriss Boudrioua Mister Saxophone in Brazilian Jazz, Marcelo Martins on reeds and Jesse Sadoc on trumpet, trombonists Alceu Reis & Vittor Santos, famous Ney Conceiçao, Marcelo Mariano & Romulo Gomes on bass, Jurim Moreira and the mounting star of Brazil Rafel Barata on drums ...last but not least, the wonderful Luciana Pegorer on flute, but also producer of this album for her Delira record label. All the compositions are from Mauricio, where he purposely didn’t select his best known ones, giving us the wide representation of his great talent as a composer and performer. Just listen...and dream you were present during the recording... -- Jacques Muyal Feb. 2011  СоставMauricio Einhorn - harmonica Cesar Camargo Mariano, Ricardo Leao - piano, keyboards, arrangements Alberto Chimelli - piano Ricardo Silveira - guitar Marcelo Mariano, Ney Conceicao - bass Romulo Gomes - acoustic bass Jurim Moreira, Rafael Barata - drums Armando Marcal - percussion Jesse Sadoc - flugelhorn Marcelo Martins - tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone, flute Idriss Boudrioua - alto saxophone Aldivas Ayres, Vittor Santos - trombone Alceu Reis - cello Luciana Pegorer - fluteRecorded at Jaula do Leao Studio, Rio de Janeiro in March-April, 2007.
