Biography:
Rosa Brunello begins her studies with the bass player Alessandro Fedrigo, the trumpet player David Boato and the bassist Andrea Lombardini.At the “Umbria Jazz Clinics – Berklee in Umbria 2003” she wins a scholarship that allows her to study at the Berklee College of Music in Boston (USA) in 2005, where she gains a further scholarship.
She wins another scholarship during the summer workshop “Siena Jazz 2009”.She has been studying with Glauco Venier, Klaus Gesing, Stefano Senni, Stefano Bellon, Marco Tamburini, Stefano Onorati, Ambrogio De Palma since 2006.
In 2010 she graduates at the Jazz Conservatory “G. Tartini” in Triest and in 2013 at the Maser in Jazz Conservatory “F. Venezze” in Rovigo.
From October 2015 she attends European Jazz Master (EUJAM) at Jazz-Institut Berlin, at Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris and at Conservatorium van Amsterdam. She studies with Greg Cohen, Riccardo Del Fra and Ernst Glerum. She graduates in July 2017.
She took part in several important international workshop with Bobby McFerrin, Elvin Jones, Michel Camilo, Horazo “El Negro” Hernandez, Scott Colley, Miguel Zenon, Ben Allison, Drew Gress, Paolino Dalla Porta, Lionel Louke, Ferenc Nemeth, Glauco Venier, Stefano Bollani, Pietro Tonolo, Mauro Negri, Massimo Manzi, Ack Von Rooyer, Bruno Castellucci, Roberto Gatto.
She played with Pietro Tonolo, Glauco Venier, John Stowell, Ahmed Abdullah, Alex Harding, Joel Holmes, Francesco Bearzatti, Federico Casagrande, Giovanni Guidi, Dan Kinzelman, Jimmy Weinstein, Enrico Zanisi, Marcello Allulli, David Boato, Enzo Carniel, Adam Pache, Bruno Castellucci, Enzo Zirilli, Sandro Gibellini, Marco Tamburini, Kelvin Sholar, Piero Bittolo Bon, Gerard Gschloessl, Enzo Carniel, Stefano Tamborrino and others.
In 2012 she recorded her first album “Camarones a la plancha” (Zone di Musica) as a leader. The Rosa Brunello 5et in composed by David Boato, Piero Bittolo Bon, Riccardo Chiarion and Luca Colussi.
In May 2016 her second album as a leader ‘Upright Tales’ is released by the international label Cam Jazz. The band Rosa Brunello y Los Fermentos is formed by David Boato, Filippo Vignato, Luca Colussi e vede come ospiti Dan Kinzelman, Enzo Carniel and Francesca Viaro.
In March 2018 her third album (second for the international label Cam Jazz) is released. It’s ‘Volverse – Live in Trieste’, a live concert recorded together with Alessandro presti, Filippo Vignato and Luca Colussi.
With the band OMIT FIVE, with whom he is constantly touring through Italy and Europe, got first prize as best band at Barga Jazz Contest 2011 and at Premio Delle Arti 2011 of MIUR.
She performed in Italy, Great Britain, France, Netherland, Belgium, Spain, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary and Poland.
