Об альбоме (сборнике)
For this third recording for Atelier Sawano, Dutch pianist extraordinaire Jos Van Beest was blessed with a beautiful-sounding Steinway Concert Grand D-274, the sound of which was beautifully recorded. Van Beest uses notes as his paint and the keys as his brushes and paints the landscape of his heart. It is always full of emotion and colored with sweet remembrance. Let your body sway with his gentle swing and you'll be intoxicated as if from a glass of pourriture noble.
An excerpt from bassist and producer Evert J. Woud's liner notes: "Jos' piano playing is quite extraordinary, he's got a great romantic touch combined with an amazing technique, all self-taught and a creativity that makes him sound so diffierent from most other pianists. His repertoire, consisting of songs which he wrote himself and/or chose from his large record collection (with many famous musicians like Oscar Peterson, Erroll Garner, Monty Alexander, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Shirley Horn and others), never gets selected because of technical complexity, but always carefully for reasons of beauty, melody and chord structure... For 25 years now we've been playing as a piano trio, not merely as musicians, but, at least as important, as friends and with a lot of fun. Please listen and you will hear it."
