Nevertheless they did not making music together since 2007. They meet each other often at concerts from bands like Tribal Tech etc. The third man Goran meet Ulf Stricker in 1999, at that time as a blood young student of a bassist friend from Ulf. Over the years they all work together in diverse projects and more and more they build up a very fine, good used bass and drums team. In 2007 Goran was surfing on the web and found the MySpace Site of Thorsten Praest. Ulf and Goran invited him to a jam session at Ulf’s studio. From the very first notes was clear, that they work together from now on. Thorsten was searching after musicians who want to build up a fusion project and he already wrote music for this idea. Already at the first day working in Ulf’s studio they recorded the title song “Nerd Alert”. Almost “Nerd Alert” became also the band’s name, but at the end they prefer the neologism of their Christian names. So at the end of 2007 GUT was born.The band members: Ulf Stricker. Studied jazz drums in Arnheim, Netherlands from 1997 till 2001. Since then he is a freelancer in jazz and pop music. He worked with different well-known artists like Bob Mintzer, Frank McComb, Nippy Noya, Roy Louis, Stevie Woods and even together with people like Loona, Kelly Clarkson, Delta Goodrem or Alexander Klaws. As a solo drummer he was performing on several drum festivals all over the world and shared the stage with great like Dave Weckl, Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez, Akira Jimbo, Thomas Lang and others. Ulf Stricker is endorser for DW Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Latin Percussion, Remo Drumheads and Roland Electronics.Thorsten Praest. He is graduate of the M.G.I. and studied jazz guitar at the music academy in Arnheim, Netherlands from 1993 till 1998. Beside his activities as a live, session and studio guitarist, he is singer and the musical head of the cult band “Hühnerfriedhof” and guitarist & songwriter for the metal group “Coldseed”. He won the first prize at the “Guitar Fight Club” audition 2008 in Bischofswerda, Germany.Goran Vujic. Studied electric bass at the Folkwang academy in Essen, Germany.
