Об альбоме (сборнике)"Here’s a great “lost album” - recorded in 2007 and the master forgotten about since then. Henry Kaiser recently rediscovered the files on an old computer. A fine recording situation at a local school of audio engineering created the opportunity for the music to be captured with excellent studio fidelity.Josh Allen is an under-recorded saxophonist from the Bay Area. His origins go back to the Berkeley school system’s Jazz Program in the 1980’s. Notable past collaborators include Cecil Taylor, Glenn Spearman, Marco Eniedi, Damon Smith, and Weasel Walter. Variations of the "Deconstruction of What You Know” band have been a constantly performing ensemble, with revolving members, to this day. Allen’s current Deconstruction Orchestra is based around this project, but is an expanded ensemble of 20-plus members. Both bands perform frequently in the San Francisco Bay Area.Henry Kaiser and William Winant are frequent collaborators with Allen. Over the past decade they have developed a unique set of languages and grammars together. This is the first album on which Winant is the sole kit drummer. Kaiser’s experimental nature and his interaction with Allen somehow creates moments of Kaiser's playing that, though twisted into a 4th dimensional musical monkey wrench, seem to be related to jazz. Kaiser remarks that his particularly unusual playing on this album is probably as close to jazz as he will ever get.Rather than excursions in and out of predetermined musical forms, the music on this album grows out of a rapid and constant reorganization of ideas by all the players."
