Об альбоме (сборнике) Hot be-bop recording by England's finest alto player -in the tradition of Charlie Parker- with an equally hot band delivering the goods on six lengthy numbers. Peter King has been playing his style of be-bop for decades and has a number of delectible discs that will surprise, if not shock, the uninitiated. There are the discs on Spotlite, with his quartet and with a quintet(2cd's)that had Al Haig on piano as well as the unique soprano and tenor of Art Themen. Peter King is, and has been, a giant of the alto sax for years(decades) now. This is truly exciting stuff and well worth your effort to obtain it. Recommended to those who are looking for a new take on music initially influenced by Charlie Parker, but with today's brashness and defiance. -- John C. Graham
