If you like these standards, you will soon find out, that this Lady is capable to infuse something new into these songs that make them also in their right way "her songs" (Compare e.g. cry me a river from Ms Krall's live in Paris album with Ms Kimmons version - then judge for yourself (I don't give you any hints), your decision will be easy.. The same as once you here the version of "Guess who I saw today"... The instrumentation is sparse, but more than supple: Piano, Bass and drums. Well, if you like the classical american songbook and you're (like me) always on the lookout for "genuine", new interpretations, you can't get around this piece of work.
