Her father’s job with the World Health Organization for the U.N. took her to many places in the world.At the age of one she lived in Surinam and spoke Dutch, before speaking English. Her family then moved to Barbados & Jamaica after which Ilene returned to the States to attend the Boston University & Smith college. She then moved to New York where she worked as a model, an aerobic teacher and eventually started a job as a costume designer to work on films such as Michael Shultzs’ « Crush Groove ».But Ilene eventually found out her way through singing / songwriting and ended up moving, for reasons of the heart, to France, where she settled down in Paris and started to perform live. She signed up her first album with Sony and started touring intensively. Since then, Ilene has recorded another five albums, sold over 70 000 albums and gave more than 400 live performances all over Europe.It is on stage that Ilene learned the tricks of the trade and it is there that the magnitude of her abilities as a singer/songwriter explode into flamboyant life.
