Many of these sides are done with Billie Holiday and various small groups of top flight all-stars; many are piano solo takes. These recordings are of all types of songs, from slow tempo to stomping swing and just about everything in between. There are no liner notes, recording personnel, dates, or photos save the cover and back pictures. Each CD comes in a cardboard sleeve with the correctly numbered song titles printed on the back. So I gathered the dates and personnel information from several sources: the Membran site, www.membran.net; the TIM booklets and the HEP listings, which closely used the same material; and the Billie Holiday site www.billieholiday.be. The sound is in really good condition especially when you consider that these songs were recorded over 70 years ago. Highly recommendable!
