Yusef was, about this time, starting to express his militant tendencies both politically and musically and this is clearly demonstrated In the musical outings! This previously unreleased 75-minute recording took place at the club around midnight New Year's eve 1965 playing us through to 1966. His truly unique and distinctive style has never sounded better on this selection of standards and Lateef originals.
