At first, Jimi Hendrix, Rage Against The Machine and Nirvana took his attention, but only a couple of years later jazz artists such as John Scofield, Jim Hall and John Coltrane took over as his main sources of inspiration.His musical upbringing took place in Aarhus - mainly at jam sessions at the local jazz club "Bent J.". While exploring the American jazz standards, Dahl Jeppesen improved his composing skills in bands like Cowboy Passion and Pauseland before moving to Copenhagen in 2006 where he still resides.Søren Dahl Jeppesen has studied at the Rhythmic Music Conservatories in both Aarhus and Copenhagen from which he graduated in 2007. He performs/has performed with artists such as Indra, Billie Koppel (Catbird), Elou Elan, Elisabeth Gjerluff Nielsen and saxophonists Jesper Zeuthen and Jakob Dinesen.The critically acclaimed debut album as a leader, “Route One”, was released in 2010 and features, amongst others, the Icelandic saxophonist Óskar Guðjónsson and guitar colleague, Jakob Bro.In 2011, the follow-up, "Red Sky" was released and once again Oskár Guðjónsson was featured. The release received mainly 5-star reviews and was furthermore nominated for two Danish Music Awards (Grammys) in the categories “Best Jazz Album 2011” and "Best New Jazz Artist 2011”.Søren Dahl Jeppesen has written music for the dance performances “Snow Eyes” and “Blue” and regularly tours with both.
