At the age of 9 he joined the local Brassband and after hearing a Louis Armstrong record at the age of 14 he moved to Rotterdam to study at the Highschool of Music. He graduated at both the conservatory of Arnhem & the Royal conservatory of The Hague.In 2004 Eef van Breen made a studytrip to the U.S. to obtain lessons with one of his hero's, the legendary Clark Terry, Lou Soloff and jazzmessenger Philip Harper. In 1999 Eef won the second price at the Dutch Jazz Vocalists Competition In 2004 he won the Best Original Music Award at the fimfestival of Reus for his filmscore on Julia Kaisers 'Harry's Premiere'. In 2009 Eef composed music for two of the biggest theatergroups in Holland.
