Ranging from Latin bop (including "Tin Tin Deo," "Moose the Mooche," and "Salt Peanuts") and folkloric chant pieces to Latinized versions of Miles Davis' "So What" and John Coltrane's "Syeeda's Song Flute," the music is continually intriguing and inspiring. The key soloists include trombonists Wayne Wallace and Jeff Cressman, Melecio Magdaluyo on various reeds, pianist Rebeca Mauleon, and many percussionists. Recommended.  СоставJohn Santos - congas (#1-7,9,11,12), guiro (#1,4,6), chékere (#2,7,9-13), claves (#3-7,9), coro (#4), shaker (#5,6), batá (#5), gong (#6), minor percussion (#6,8), vocals (#8,13), Iyá (#8), waterphone (#10) quinto (#12), bell (#12,13), programming (#13); Jeff Cressman - trombone (#1,4), flugelhorn (#11); Wayne Wallace - trombone (#2-7,9-13), keyboards & programming (#8,13); Alfredo "Chocolate" Armenteros - trumpet (#4); Bill Ortiz - trumpet (#4); Melecio Magdaluyo - tenor (#1,2,4) & alto (#3,7,9,10) sax, flute (#5,6); Ron Stallings - soprano (#1,2,5) & tenor (#3,7,9) sax, clarinet (#6,10); Yosvany Terry - alto sax (#2); John Calloway - flute (#1,4,7), bell (#2), piano (#3,5,9,10); David Belove - bass (#1-3,5-12); Israel "Cachao" López- bass (#4); Rebeca Mauleón - piano (#1,4), coro (#4), vocals (#8,13); Paul van Wageningen - drums (#1-3,5-12); Orestes Vilató - bongos & bell (#1,3), timbales (#2,4,5,9-11).
