The earliest members Mustafa Donmez, Fahrettin Aykut and Mustafa Ogus were mostly impressed by the influences of Northern jazz and rock jazz. With this crew, Atmosfer gave a couple of unforgettable concerts with Erkin Koray who is renowned as the most important figure of Turkish rock music at the stages of the historical cinema of Moda, Fenerbahce Park and Taksim Square in 1989. During the second musical phase of Atmosfer, the group was renovated and enlarged and adopted the discourse of “yet, there are places you have not seen and continents you have not been to”. But this phase has lasted for a very short period of time. And later on, the group went towards the influences of M-Base which is an experimental wave within the context of funk jazz beside the compositions which were the reflections of Mustafa’s internal trips. In 2005, Mustafa(guitar, guitar synth, fretless guitar and tar) reformed the group with the new members Sertac Tunguc(electric and fretless bass, keyboard), and Bilge Candan(percussions). After 20 years have gone, Atmosfer has released the very first album “Story of the Trees” which is totally made up of instrumental pieces composed and arranged by Mustafa except by the so-called Story of the Trees, Love Remains as Time Goes by and The Key consisting of Mustafa’s lead vocals. The astral jouneys of Mustafa Donmez which gave breaks on the stations of love, faith, sometimes either imagination or dissappointment gave way to this album, “Story of the Trees”.
