Об альбоме (сборнике)What summit meeting or family reunion? The two things came together the Fattoruso brothers with Daniel Mace, and put together a bunch of music in the mythical Studies Sondor of Montevideo. A disk uruguayísimo, without falling into any common place, of course, and looking to the future at the same time.
We don't know whose idea it was to put them together to have fun in a study. We also don't know if you have that much importance, in short, to know who was the intellectual author of this meeting. The brothers Hugo and Osvaldo Fattoruso are to come together, but we talk about the magnificent trio that formed for this Tango of the East, next to the bassist Daniel Mace. The result was, no doubt, a lot of music. Music is unclassifiable, with rhythmic roots that we could define as latino: at times someone will hear something as well as latin jazz; but with ears finest will be able to identify traces of the candombe, a lot of bossa nova, something of bolero: with multiple flavors they made a stew terrific.
There are new themes and topics known, or thought we knew, better said, because they give back issues to see them the next “new” and are always amazed. There are a lot of ease to play, a lot of beauty set in game but no fires of artifices: that is to say there is no virtuosity for the sake of it (so as not to lose the elegance). And within these forty minutes of music, there is a place for the Tango of the East that gives name to the album and, of course, does not seem like a tango.
Among the many topics visited disrespectfully by the trio are Cravo e canela Milton Nascimiento, or Dance of the dark, a song that popular (decades ago) Alberto Castillo, nothing less. In this latter case, starts singing under the Sledgehammer, and then develop the piano and under the various sections.
Uruguayan, argentine and uruguayan, south american to the core, mixing the influences of the two banks, the more the tremendous heritage of Brazil and jazz; with the freedom to play and eager to say and sing, these three guys without age they made a festival in the study and decided to give ourselves to sample these ten tracks master, without overproduction, guest stars, nor is rare.
