Об альбоме (сборнике)This album by greatest Cuban rumba group of the last 60 years was recorded in 1989 in London after group’s first trip abroad, and this was the first group’s release outside of Cuba. The group was led by Diosdado Ramos and quintero Jesús Alfonso (1949-2009), with lead singer Alberto Romero (1948-2006) and the last original member since 1952 Gregorio Díaz (1929-1996) still playing salidor (the lowest pitched conga). Two tracks featured special guest Carlos Embale (1923-1997), another famous rumbero and sonero. The songs were mostly traditional or written decades ago by original members who passed away (first group’s director Florencio Calle ”Catalino”, Juan Mesa), with the exception of rumba version of son montuno “Notas Musicales” by Arsenio Rodríguez.
